Artist’s Statement:

The love triangle between Viola, Orsino, and Olivia at the heart of Twelfth Night was my main inspiration for this work. By combining the Elizabethan fashion for ruffs with a hint of New Romantic style, I wanted to create a timeless quality that echoes the enduring appeal of William Shakespeare and this play. The characters float together in a swirling sea of material to emphasize the complex interwoven emotions between the trio, creating a dreamy, mesmeric scene.
