Artist’s Statement:

When I was approached about making some artwork for a Shakespeare play, one of the first plays that came to mind was The Tempest. It’s one of my earliest memories of Shakespeare, I remember watching it in primary school in Shakespeare: The Animated Tales. I loved the stop-motion animation of that series, and I found the story and moody setting captivating. It suits my style well too and I knew I’d have fun playing with the themes, metaphors, and environment of the play to create the atmosphere and drama I wanted in my work.
